Linda Elizabeth Jenkins

MADISON-Linda Jenkins, age 72, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare.  She was born on Aug. 1, 1945, in Madison, the daughter of Harold and Elizabeth (Weaver) Oren.  Linda married Kenneth "Whitey” Jenkins in 1965, in Monona.  She began working at First National Bank in 1970, and was a tyme/money processing manager before retiring in 2010. Linda was a supporter of her family in all ways; she was a wonderful mother and later grandmother. She was actively involved in many Monona groups and a fan of the Badgers, Packers, NASCAR and Monona hockey. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and ceramics and loved to spend time in the north woods, especially Scott and Rhonda's cabin in Boulder Junction. Linda and Whitey enjoyed their time together at Ho-Chunk Casino, exploring flea markets, and spending time in their backyard swimming pool entertaining their grandkids. Through Whitey, the Monona Fire Department became their extended family. Linda is survived by her; son, Scott (Rhonda) Jenkins; grandchildren, Abby, Rachel and Cal Jenkins; brothers, Phillip Oren and Peter (Terri) Oren; sisters-in-law, Norma Jenkins, Sheila Andersen, Nancy Wanless, Cleo (Carl) Smith and Linda (Sam) Musillami; and many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Whitey; sister-in-law, Karen Oren; and brothers-in-law, Bob Jenkins and Dick Andersen.  Funeral services will be held at ST. STEPHEN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, ELCA, 5700 Pheasant Hill Rd., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Monday Oct. 30, 2017. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or St. Stephens Lutheran Church.
