Virginia Morehouse

MADISON-Virginia Kathryn Morehouse, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Oak Park Place in Madison.  She was born on Oct. 30, 1922, in Lancaster Wis., the eldest daughter of Ray and Anna (Jilek) Lorenz.  On Feb. 19, 1943, she was united in marriage to Albert Morehouse at St. Clement’s Catholic Church in Lancaster. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1978.  Virginia was a member of St. Bernard’s Parish in Madison.  She enjoyed doing counted cross stitch and embroidery, was an avid reader and her joy in her life came from spending time with family and friends.  Survivors include her children, David (Alice), Jeanne (John) Sexton, Joseph, Theresa (George) Brewe and John (Jeana); grandchildren, Nicholas (Michelle) Morehouse, Caroline Sexton, John Sexton Jr, James Sexton, Shawn (Robert) Shaw, Courtney Morehouse, Travis Morehouse, Chris (Tracy) Morehouse and Ryan (Heather) Morehouse; and great-grandchildren, Silas Morehouse, Taylor Shaw, Robert Shaw and Logan Morehouse.  She is also survived by her sister, Madeline (Richard) Zainer; sister-in-law, Sister Anne Morehouse; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  In addition to her parents and her husband, Albert, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Weideman; daughter-in-law Pamela Morehouse; and her son, Daniel.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD PARISH, 2438 Atwood Ave., Madison at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, with Father Raymond J. Dischler presiding.  A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday.  Private entombment will be held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.   Memorials may be made to St. Bernard Parish.
