Dorothy Ruth Jakubenas

BARABOO - Dorothy Ruth Jakubenas, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, at Maplewood Health Care Center. She was born on April 7, 1931, in Bloom City, Wis., the daughter of Ira Hisel and Freda (Montgomery) Hisel.

Dorothy married Richard Jakubenas on May 12, 1979, at Burke Lutheran Church. Dorothy worked as a Dental Assistant for many years before retiring. She enjoyed her church, reading books, crocheting, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Ira Lee; two daughters, Dianne (Larry Anderson) Campbell and Kathleen (RT. REV Daniel J.G.G.) Block; grandchildren, Jennifer (Karl) Sullivan-Bessinger, Ryan Lee, Bret (Theresa) Lee, Patrick (Shelby) Sullivan, Dustin (Amanda) Campbell, Matthew (Cayla) Wong and Kevin Lee; step-grandsons, Todd (Brianna) Anderson and Jack (Maggie) Maddox; 11 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; grandson, Jamie Tuggle; granddaughter, Jolene Campbell; and sister, Iris Olson.

A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
