Nancy, Jill and Joy...what great memories we have of Gene at swim meets...and transporting forth and back to them! He was a wonderful role model of husband and dad...much love and thoughts to you at this bittersweet time. Jim and Jory Wilke

Both Gene and Nancy shared many a dog walk with me and my dog Apollo. There was never a lull in the conversation with Gene along, I did tease him so! He was a kind heart and fun loving man. I really have fond memories of his 80th birthday party up North, that I attended.
My friend Claudia and I visited Gene and Nancy at their summer home on the Lake about 3 years ago. As usual Gene was excited to take us on a tour of the lake and make us a fabulous fish dinner.
I will miss Gene's spirit and advice. Mary V

Dear Nancy and Family; What a beautiful obituary for Gene!! Absolutely spot on! Gene was the bedrock of your family with Nancy as the "wingman"!! Nancy, you were Gene's bedrock! Throughout our friendship Gene and Nancy always encouraged me in my career and education. Without their support over 35 years ago when we first met, I probably would not have had the confidence in myself to push forward and create a better life for myself and my daughter Ricki. I will be forever grateful to both of you and Jill and Joy, who made sure Ricki knew what it felt like to have older sisters!!
Sending love and hugs to all of your beautiful family; Lori Sharrow
