MADISON- Marie E. (Jungemann) White, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at Oak Park Place. She was born on April 10, 1937, in Poynette, the daughter of Rudolph and Adelaide (Pribbenow) Jungemann. She married Thomas White in 1964, in Palatine, Ill. Marie graduated from Poynette High School and University of Wisconsin, Platteville. She worked as a teacher for 34 years, teaching at Plumb Grove Middle School in Rolling Meadows, Ill. She was also a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights, Ill. Marie is survived by sisters, Arlette Siekmeier and Alice Jungemann (David Wilken); brother, Robert Jungemann; four nephews, Mark (April ) Siekmeier, John (Rebecca) Siekmeier, Paul (Katie) Siekmeier and Brad Jungemann; and niece, Lisa (Brendon) Jungemann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; parents; brother-in-law, Allan Siekmeier; and sister-in-law, Cathleen Jungemann. She was interred at Greenwood Cemetery in North Leeds, Wis. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or the charity of your choice.

Marie was my college roommate for two years at Platteville. I learned about curling from her and visited her home in Arlington during fall cabbage harvest. She had a great smile, was a friend to all and we both went into teaching, which I know her mother did also. Just though of her this past week, when another roommate made contact. Know that your sister was a good friend .

Thank you for letting us know, Alice. My favorite memory is that she was so pleased when she heard that my husband had named our youngest daughter, Julianne Marie after her. She was like a big sister to him when she lived with the Gartman family in Poynette, WI while she attended high school.
