Obituary

MADISON/LA CROSSE/ANN ARBOR, MI/WILLIAMS BAY- Linda M. Rolnick, age 63, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017. She was born on May 16, 1954, in La Crosse, the daughter of Richard and Hallie (Fackler) Hass. After building three years of friendship, love and adoration, Linda and David Rolnick were bonded in marriage, enjoying 45 years of partnership. She graduated from La Crosse Central High School, and later UW Madison. Linda had an astute artistic eye, and employed herself through her individual, fascinating and creative works of art. Even after retirement, Linda found great joy in her ability to freely express herself through art. Linda had a wonderful passion for music, she attended hundreds of concerts throughout her life, and relished the moments spent singing her favorite songs with her dear friends. Her love of the world rang true, especially a fascination for insects and she was David’s “penguin-life-long-love.” Linda was a friend to all, a mentor to her beloved friends and a mother to many of her children’s friends, whom she always treated as her own. She devoted her helping heart to social work, and always had a kind word of good advice for anyone who was in need. Her many interests were often sparked through her love of reading, Linda was always eager to learn and experience new things, especially new places. She traveled the world with gratitude and fascination with every culture, she always made the absolute best out of every trip. As a proud union member, she had a strong sense of social justice, and worked tirelessly to make the world a better place. Linda is survived by her parents; husband, David; two sons, Michael Rolnick and Andrew Rolnick; brother, Charles (Katie) Hass; and sister-in-law, Laura (Douglas) Buehrle. David, I am so sorry to hear about Linda. I was always impressed by her gentle manner, in combination with her tenaciously-held progressive views. I have you in my thoughts.

Linda is missed. I miss her comments about "Snotty" Walker on my Facebook posts. And her smile, at the Singalongs. And so we must get rid of "Snotty" for her.
