STOUGHTON-John Johnson, age 58, of Stoughton, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017. He was born on Dec. 8, 1958, in Madison, the son of John and Shirley (Hintz) Johnson. John recently retired from Waunona Sanitary System. He loved NASCAR, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and his dog, Misty. John is survived by his mother, Shirley; two sisters, Paula Johnson and Cindy (William) Denzer; brother, Ronald (Gina) Johnson; four nephews, Robert (Michelle) Marty, William Marty, William (Courtney) Denzer and Hunter Capadona; three nieces, Stephanie Denzer, Elizabeth Denzer and Madison Johnson; "big brother" Spencer Strand; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Johnson; and grandmother, Violet Johnson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the family.

John John John... What a smart and funny man you were. Always able to put a smile on a face and laugh in the air. My brother Danny has had a hard time dealing with your loss. So many projects left unfinished and things yet to learn. You are loved by many and missed by all of us. See you in heaven my friend. Fly high and free.

Dear, dear Johnny. How many things you taught us in all the years as our beloved neighbor. We were literally just looking at your note on our dryer vent hose (a note you KNEW we would need): "Keep hose cleaned out for dryer operation and safety!!" I never had one conversation with you where you didn't try to teach me at least 3-5 important, common-sense things about cars, engines, machinery, building upkeep, and more. I remember the day the cottonwood fell--right smack between our houses--and within a few minutes I heard from your window, "Robert, get your tree off my house!" That's how we knew you were okay in there, lol. Love you and miss you, dear Johnny. I know you're already busy building, repairing, and teaching in the next dimension. XOXO
