Robert L Skaggs

MADISON-Robert L. “Bob” Skaggs, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017.  He was born on Jan. 29, 1933, the son of Alva and Leafy (Stater) Skaggs.  Bob graduated from Madison East High School.  He married Betty Sorensen on April 16, 1955.  Bob was the owner and operator of B-Ska Painting.  For the last 11 years he worked as a courier for Bonded Transportation Solution.  Bob enjoyed fishing in the Madison area, bowling, watching old classic movies, and the Packers and Brewers.  He liked history and astronomy and took pride in his rose gardens.  Bob especially loved hosting large family gatherings and weekly pinochle card games with the family.  Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty; three sons, Bob (Debi)  Jr., Bruce and Brent; daughter, Brenda (Brent) Hemstead; six grandchildren, Bobby III(Angie), Kristy, Jacob, Mathew, Brandon (Kristina) and Brooke; and five great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Benjamin; sister, Emogene; and two brothers, Al and Bill.  Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, with the Rev. Jack Mielke presiding. Burial will be held at Blooming Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday.  Thank you to Agrace HospiceCare, especially Megan for the wonderful care and support given to our family.
