I am the curator at Historic Blooming Grove Historical Society/Dean House. I am pleased that Mary Lou's obituary mentioned her long time involvement with the Monona Landmarks Commission and her interest in local Native American history. The HBGHS would be honored to receive for its collection any items of Monona history or Native American culture that Mary Lou collected. The Board of HBGHS extends its condolences to Mary Lou's family. Ann Waidelich, curator, 608-249-7920 annwaid@charter.net

Mary Lou was a very kind and thoughtful person. She would contact my husband every year . They were neighbors in Midland Michigan. She even visited him when she came to Midland. We would exchange Christmas cards. After my husband died in 2014 she called me to express sympathy.

To the family, Steve, Nancy, Kenneth, Anne, and families, of my dear dear friend, May Lou for over 60 years. My deepest sympathy to you all. We shared such wonderful, enlightening times throughout those years. It was a privilege and honor to have known her and be her friend. Such beautiful and fun memories will remain with me forever.
Sincerely and with love, Lois Jean (McMillan) Veremis
