Obituary
OREGON-Cole Tarkenton, age 28, of Oregon, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 28, 2017, following a nine month struggle (four surgeries and at least two more pending) from a job accident injury. He was born on Sept. 8, 1988, in Madison. Cole graduated from Oregon High School, attended truck driving school and enjoyed the long distance traveling. He also worked in the food, trades and automotive industry. Cole loved music, fishing, spending time at the family cabin, shooting pool, Halloween, the Terrace in the summer, Nitty Gritty birthdays and Ian’s Mac & Cheese pizza. He also enjoyed all comedy and had a knack for remembering and reciting one-liners. Cole is survived by his father, Brian; mother and step-father, Ashley and Randy Reeves; grandmothers; Sharon Tarkenton and Patsy Farrell; half-brothers, Dustin, Jack, Wyatt and Blake Reeves; uncles, Brad (Kathie), Brett (Amy) and Barry (Kristi) Tarkenton and Tony (Lauren) Farrell; aunts, Katie (Tim) Hawkins and Kim Farrell; special cousins, Alex (Devan), Michael, Paul, Austin, Gehrick, Josh (Ashley) and Harley Tarkenton, and Rachel, Patrick and Kelly Blake; and many other relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Warren Tarkenton and Arthur Farrell; uncles, Bruce Tarkenton and Edward Blake; and cousin, Dustin Tarkenton. A memorial celebration will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017. A private burial will be held at Town of Dunn Burial Grounds. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be decided. Rest in peace dear Cole, the pain is now gone. You will always be in our hearts and that smile of yours will never be forgotten.
