Obituary

OREGON-James L. “Just Jim” Richardson, age 68, of Oregon, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017.  He was born on Sept. 19, 1948, the son of Collins and Merle (Dale) Richardson.  Jim graduated from Oregon High School.  He worked as a carpenter for the Local Union No. 314 for 30 years and Walmart.  Jim loved spending time with family, including taking multiple visits to Virginia Beach to visit them.  He also enjoyed farming, fishing, watching NASCAR, and trips to the casino.  Jim is survived by his daughter, Serena (Brian) Bales of Oregon; son, Wade (Rebecca) Richardson of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren, Brody, Kaiya, Jason Taylor “JT”, Sebastian, Cameron and Sharon; siblings, David (Dorthy) Richardson, Dale (Claudia) Richardson and Ann (Fred) Morris all of Oregon; special lifelong friend, Linda Minash; his cat, Billy Bob; many nieces, nephews and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  A celebration gathering will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017.  Per Jim’s wishes a private burial will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund:  https://childrenscancer.org.  The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at UW Carbone Cancer Center and UW Hospital who provided excellent care to Jim.
