Obituary
MADISON-Cynthia Jane (Becker) Stabler, age 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2017, surrounded by her family at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born June 11, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Robert and Marilyn Becker. She is survived by her daughter, Ronda Call; three sisters, Pam Gelein, Helen Becker and Carol Whitney (Gimble); special sister-in-law, Frances Stabler Meyer; and an extended family of in-laws and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Becker; and sister, Abbe Vining. Cindy and Ronda began their life together in the Republic of Panama, and later loved their first home on Pikes Peak Road in Ridgeway. After moving away, Cindy annually enjoyed throwing a party "out in the country" on her beloved land. She was active in St. Bernard Catholic Church, The Luke House, and volunteered for the National Kidney Foundation. Cindy was also a founding member of the Madison Chapter of the Wisconsin Women’s Rugby Football Club. Cindy will be remembered for her many friendships, some life-long, and as someone who was always smiling. Despite chronic health issues for over 40 years, she never complained! She will be forever missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at: www.kidney.org. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at church from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison.

Deepest sympathy to the "Becker Girls". I, along with countless others, loved and admired Cindy for her amazing strength, deep compassion for others and her ability to smile in the face of many challenges. Cindy's father, Bob, always treasured (and displayed proudly) his favorite picture of her giving her all in a soccer competition. Cindy will be greatly missed and long remembered. I hope her many loved ones will cling close to each other in the difficult time ahead and share and cherish the memories of all the good times we shared with our beloved Cindy. With much love and admiration from

Dear Cindy! At last - to feel no pain and wait on the Lord! I so enjoyed my teen years knowing your family and spending time with my Becker's and my forever friend Helen. You were my idol and I wanted to be as composed and beautiful as you were. Love to Ronda, Pam, Helen and Carol. I think the last time I saw you was on your land for family reunion that I'll never forget. With sincere condolences, Brenda.

I knew Cindy and was a church friend at St. Bernards. She was such an inspiration to me. With all of her health problems, she had every reason to complain. Never once did I ever hear her complain, but she always had a smile and thankfulness for the gifts that God has given her. One of the most spiritual people I have ever known. I will always keep her in my heart. Prayers to all of you, her family.
