OREGON-Kurt D. Steberl, age 60, of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. He was born on Oct. 15, 1956, in Madison, the son of Edward and Sally (Lund) Steberl. Kurt married Dawn Langfoss on July 12, 1980. He was the owner/operator for Steberl Tools for over 17 years. Kurt was a member of the Oregon Snow Blazers. He was an avid outdoorsman including, fishing, pheasant hunting, deer hunting and snowmobiling. Kurt is survived by his wife, Dawn; son, Karl Steberl; mother, Sally Griffin; brothers and sister, Julie (John) Dunn, Eric Steberl, Mike (Christine) Griffin, John (Cindi) Griffin and Christopher Griffin; and several other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by father, Edward; step-father, Jim Griffin; and brother, Peter Griffin. Private family services will be held at a later date. Sorry to hear this. Kurt was a great guy to do business with and I considered him a friend for the ten years I knew him. We had fun talking about my late father (police officer in Verona) and his days working at the Verona Auto Body.

The last time I saw Kurt was in the 1980's, shortly after he and Dawn were married. We laughed and told old stories to Dawn, who hopefully has forgotten them (about our short lived 8th grade romance and high school hi-jinks) . I live in Virginia and am heading to Madison in a couple of weeks. Last night I wrote myself a note to see if I could connect with Kurt and Dawn on my visit.
Condolences to Kurt's family and close friends. He was a very sweet guy.

I'll never forget when Kurt brought Buck in to my shop and he walked over to the hunting coats on display, lifted his leg and peed on them forever. Still laugh about it

Very sorry for your loss. Kurt was my Mac Tools salesperson for at least 17 years. He was always friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. I enjoyed talking with him when he stopped by. He will be missed.

So very sorry to hear of Kurt's passing. I knew the family years ago and Dawn and Kurt were so kind. So sorry to hear of Peter's death also. Please let Sally know that she is in my prayers.

Kurt was a good neighborhood friend when we were teenagers in Hillfarms. My double condolences to the Steberl-Griffin family. I had not known that Pete had also passed. I considered him a friend as well.
