MCFARLAND-Wilda Ione Perkins, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton. She was born on Nov. 24, 1930, in Richland Center, the daughter of Theodore “Bob” and Helen (Wilson) Scholl. Wilda attended Ithaca High School and graduated from Richland Center High School in 1948. She then attended Richland County Normal, graduating in 1950. Wilda married Vernon “John” Perkins on Jan. 5, 1951, and they farmed in Richland County for 13 years. They then moved to Black Earth for 22 years. In 1985, they moved to Madison and after Vernon’s death she resided in McFarland. Wilda was employed at various positions throughout her working career. She enjoyed genealogy, traveling, reading and spending time with her family. Wilda is survived by three daughters, Ruth (Bruce) Gibson of Shady Shores, Texas, Jane (Robert) Cardarella and Dawn (Bruce) Steinhofer, both of McFarland; five grandchildren, Ryan (Carrie), Douglas (Jill) and Jill Gibson, and Casey and Andrea Steinhofer; five great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Carol Scholl, Nancy Cox and Gloria Flathom; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon in 2005; and her brother, Dale. Wilda’s wishes were to have no funeral services. Memorials may be made to the Richland Center History Room located in the Brewer Library in Richland Center, 325 N. Central Ave., Richland Center, WI 53581. You have our deepest sympathy in the loss of Wilda. She was a wonderful lady. We last seen her at John Cupps funeral. Wilda was always glad to be able to talk to us and a pleasure for us. We didn't get to see her very often. Over the years it was less often. We will miss you. RIP.
