Obituary

Edward A. “Butch” Rought, age 74, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on Aug. 13, 1942, in Madison, the son of Edward and Ruth (Warner) Rought. Butch graduated from Madison East High School in 1960, and was employed as a manufacturing engineer for Bou-Matic for over 30 years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed classic cars, watching boxing, singing, and listening to Elvis. Survivors include his two sons, Russell Edward (Tricia ) Rought and Darin Rought; his daughter, Kristine (Kyle) Brophy; his ex-wife, Mary Rought; a brother, John (Diane) Rought; two sisters, Eleanor Rought and Terri Allee; nine grandchildren, Madison "Max" Rought, Ireland Rought, Draake Rought, Kathryn (Brian) Johnson, Kylie Brophy, Kyra Brophy, Sapphire Stellflue, Eon Rought and Camryn Rought; his special Friend, June Marie Gaudeau; and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Carroll; his brother, Richard; and his parents. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017. Inurnment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
