Obituary
MADISON - Madelon Wetor died on March 29, 2023, at Oakwood Village West in Madison, where she received outstanding care.
Madelon had a degree in music and played several instruments, mainly piano. She also sang with the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus. Madelon loved to travel and loved the outdoors which took her from the Rock Mountains backpacking and all the way to Australia. The amazing pictures Madelon took became cherished notecards. She graciously hosted family, sometimes for months at a time. She never made us feel like a burden and kept her refrigerator stocked with York Peppermint Patties and ice cream.
Her eight nieces and nephews, Barbara Bottiger, Mary Kay Smith, Michael Wilhelm, Wendy Ray, Linda Niemeyer, Kim Buckoski, Terri Wilhelm and Jack Linder all had special, close relationships with her and she was beloved by all. Her experience and knowledge enriched their lives.
Madelon was the daughter of Alois and Marie (Lesch) Wetor. She grew up in Dacada, Wis., and received her high school and college degrees from Alverno University in Milwaukee. Her career spanned several states as a teacher and a computer programmer. She made many friends along the way.
Madelon is survived by her sister, Ruth (George) Alt; brother-in-law, John Linder; and her eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marcy Linder and Mary Ann Hammes; and brother-in-law, Roger Hammes.
Madelon was very shy as a child but grew into an intelligent, talented, kind, generous, interesting woman. Hers was a life well-lived.
