March 17, 1951 - June 01, 2017
Obituary
OREGON-Vickie Lynn Lykken, age 66, of Oregon, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017. She was born on March 17, 1951, in Minot, N.D., the daughter of James and Donna (Penn) Griffin. Vickie married Kenneth Hill on Dec. 20, 2008. She grew up in Minot North Dakota and graduated from Minot State University with a degree in Communication Arts. Vickie worked in TV production and various other positions, retiring as an Administrative Assistant in 2011 for The Stark Co. Realtors. She loved baking, and was especially known for her pies. Reading was a passion and at times would read a book a day. She also enjoyed writing and was an avid Jeopardy fan. Vickie had a love for nature that included flowers, birds, butterflies, and any place with a beautiful view. She had a lovely voice, knew countless lyrics, and a comment in casual conversation could inspire her to break out into song. Vickie is survived by her husband, Ken; son, Ryan Lykken; mother, Donna; three sisters, Connie (Joe) Monaco, Peggy Griffin, and Julie Griffin; brother, Bill Griffin; half-sister, Jamie Hendricks; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, James; son, Cole Lykken; and half-sister, Debbie Denny. A casual and simple Celebration of Vickie’s Life will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a time of sharing at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017. Those attending are encouraged to wear something in her favorite color, Purple. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
