There is a bright light in Heaven now. Char has been a part of my life for 30 years and loved her. She always had a smile and she had so much love to give. She shared that love with everyone and always took time for those others may have overlooked. Her greatest joy was her family. She will be so missed by all who knew her. My love to the family.

I had the pleasure of working with Char at Dane County Social Services. She was a bright, kind, hard/working and all around wonderful woman. She took much responsibility opening the first urban field office in South Madison. On a personal level, I remember all the beautiful craft items she made and shared with me and others.

What a shining light she was! She rose above many odds in her life with grace and fortitude. We are in awe of her intelligence, her compassion, her honesty, and her abiding love of her entire family. She has left a wonderful legacy for her sons and grandchildren. I am so proud to say she was my cousin. Ann (Himsel) Dettwiler

Char will be greatly missed at our auctions in Freeport, Il. A long time friend and customer who always had a smile on her face and good things to say about everyone! We are thinking of her family and friends at this difficult time. Her permanent number at our auction was 42, and it will now be "retired" forever. Roland and Doug Munda, Kathy and the entire Munda Auction Gang.

My sincerest sympathy to Char's family. I wish I could come to the funeral but I am laid up with sciatica and a ruptured disc. Barry Ulsrud was my husband, which is how I got to know Char. She treated me like family from the beginning and I will always cherish my time with her. She was a lovely lady and I will miss her.
