Obituary
MADISON - LaVon R. Lucas, age 101, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023, at Middleton Village Nursing and Rehab. She was born on Aug. 23, 1922, in Madison, the daughter of George and Palmina (Peterson) Larson.
LaVon graduated from Madison East High School. She was united in marriage to Franklin Lucas in 1942. LaVon worked as a salesperson and a homemaker. She was an avid reader, enjoyed painting and loved the arts.
LaVon is survived by her daughter, Patricia Kay (Gregg Riemer) Lucas; grandson, Patrick Lucas; and nephew, Joseph Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin; parents, George and Palmina; daughter, Mary Lucas; sister, Eileen (John) Phillips; and niece, Peggy Phillips.
A graveside service will be held at HIGHLAND MEMORY GARDENS, 3054 County Highway BB, Cottage Grove, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023.
