Brian Scott Stroede

MADISON-Brian “Scott” Stroede, age 64, of Madison, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 25, 2017. He was born in Madison on Dec. 8, 1952, the son of Eugene and Joyce Stroede. He graduated from Madison East High School in 1970. He married Karen Shakstad on June 15, 1985. Scott worked at Aramark Uniform Service for over 30 years and made many friends during his time working there and during his retirement years at his favorite “watering hole,” the Sundown Saloon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and everything outdoors. Scott held many fond memories of summer’s past, spent on his aunt and uncle’s farm in Columbus. He would do anything to help others, and had a soft spot for all the family pets, which he considered his, “still at home kids.” ‘Papa Scott’ had a tender heart for all the little ones and will be remembered as a kind man to all. He is survived by four children, Kristie (Tony), Charitie (Tony), Tigger and Samantha (J.J.); grandchildren, Ashley Stroede, Tyler, Cody, Kayla, Collin, Ashley Gannon, Nikki, Autumn, Kitiera and Willow; great-grandchildren, Ravonte and Cailyn; two brothers, Mike and Jeffrey (Cindy); many extended family members and in-laws; and his special friends, Joe, Dick and Carole. Scott was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; grandson, Kyle; and sister-in-law, Sherry. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona, at 12 Noon, on Thursday, June 1, 2017.
