My memories of Elsa are precious. I had the unique opportunity to share with Elsa a love for the great hymns of the church. One of my fondest and earliest memories of her is listening to her sing at Buckeye church. Thank you, Elsa for your love and support. Bill

My dear "tante" was very special to me. I was only three years old when my dad passed away. Aunt Elsa and Uncle Vic nurtured me during my growing-up years and loved me as their own son. When I brought my new bride to Wisconsin 55 years ago, she graciously opened her heart and welcomed her into the family. Over the years she demonstrated her loving care in many ways - hosting a shower for our first born, finding us an affordable place to live on 5th Street, giving our boys a special Christmas when I was out of work for several months with an illness, leading us to make Buckeye our home church. Those are just a few of the ways she gave of herself to us. She was a beautiful example and inspiration to our family. We will miss her.

I received my first birthday card from Elsa1980. That year the card was very meaningful for me. My mother had died in April and in October, I was not anticipating my birthday without my mother's card. What a delightful surprise when Elsa's card arrived. She continued to bless me with a birthday card for many years. Marcia Ziegler Avila Beach, California

My very dear Jacbosen Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I am very sad I won't be able to attend her celebration on Monday. I first met Elsa in 1972 when I went to work in the office of the Bill Glass Crusade. Shortly thereafter, we started attend Buckeye Evan Free Church because of her testimony and we met the entire Jacobsen family. She was always a good friend (even though we had a rough patch when I first started working with her at Bill Glass). She never forgot my birthday and even sent me one last year. We were with Kevin & Patti Earhart last weekend and they asked about Elsa. She and Mom became good friends. I'm just thinking of the "Weigh-In then go to breakfast group" all being in heaven together now except for Mabel VanderVelde. What a breakfast they are having together now. Thank you for your love & care during the many years. We will be praying for you all. Our hearts and with and so is the Lord. Marsha & Sharla Miller

I just happened to go through the obituaries from Gunderson on my computer and saw this tribute to Elsa. I am happy to have known her when I lived in Monona and we attended the same church. She was always so good to me and I admired the great Christian example she was. She will always be a bright spot in the memories I have of my church days in Madison.

I first met Elsa--she was always Mrs. Jacobson to me for I was a teenager, when my parents built a new home. She and Mr. Jacobson lived directly across the street from us on Camilla Road when it was a brand new neighborhood. Mr. Jacobson and my Dad, Robert Nyborg used to sit on lawn chairs at the top of the driveway and I presume, solved the world's problems. Fast forward many years. In 2011 I went to work for Senior Helpers. I was sent to a new-to-me client. On my first visit I was getting to know a bit about this lovely lady when she mentioned having lived on Camilla Road. "Oh, my goodness you're the Jacobson's that lived across the street from us. I'm Pat, Lil and Robert's daughter." I said. In those in between years I came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior. We had a lot to talk about. She was unfailingly kind and was easy to please. She liked the way I made scrambled eggs. She was always thankful for whatever I did for her. I got to know some stories about the family. She was all about her Lord and her family. I learned a lot about how to grow old graciously from her. My own mother preceded her in death by 1 year and 3 days-- my dad passed 15 days after Mom. I'd think there was a glad reunion as my parents both trusted the Lord later in life. I only found out today for sure what I already suspected--Elsa's home. I really enjoyed her and cared about her. You're a wonderful family. I know how you all took care of her. Blessings.
