OREGON-Janice Elizabeth Hiller, age 92, of Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on June 12, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Herbert and Carolyn (Marquardt) Gnass. Janice attended Cornell College in Iowa where she met her late husband, Kelsey Hiller. They were married on June 18, 1948, in Illinois. Janice enjoyed painting, gardening, music and making flower arrangements. She loved spending summers at their cottage in Michigan and being surrounded by her family during the holidays. Janice is survived by her two daughters, Kari Smith and Laurie (Robert) Sumanis; grandson, Erik Sumanis; four granddaughters, Kristine Sumanis, Erin (Chris) Bakken, Meghan (Allen) Dueholm and Brynn Gunderson; three great-granddaughters, Avery Bakken, Kelsey Gunderson and Liv Lamb; and two great-grandsons, Caleb Bakken and Jack Gunderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Jan was such a wonderful person. From the time I met her 7 years ago I loved her. We had lots of good times playing games, potlucks and planning special events at Greenwood where we were residents. Words really can't express the love I had for Jan. Live, Sandy Zart

Janice was my mother's beautiful cousin. We were always in awe of her fashion and cosmetic sense.
One of my most interesting memories was watching her brush her poodle's teeth.
We will miss you Janice!
