Donna Jean Harrison

SUN PRAIRIE-Donna Jean Harrison, age 76, of Sun Prairie, passed away at home, with her husband and daughters by her side, on Thursday, April 27, 2017. She was born on April 13, 1941, in Madison, the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth (Severson) Kohls. She was united in marriage to Earl Harrison on October 14, 1961. Donna worked as a receptionist in several Madison area radiology departments, retiring from UW Health. She was a very talented and creative seamstress and she loved knitting, quilting and sewing for family members, friends, organizations, and even people she didn't know. Donna was especially devoted to her family and treasured the time she spent with them. She was passionate about being a mother and delicately raised three young ladies to become independent women. Donna always conducted herself with class and was deeply loved by those who knew her. She will be forever missed by her husband, Earl; daughters, Amy (Steve) Scott, Theresa (Paul) Fischer, and Julie (Joe) Bakke; sister, Mary Gehrmann; six grandchildren, Austin (Angela) Bakke, Ashley Bakke, Amanda (Lucas) Powelka, Adam Ney, Jason Scott, and Carolyn Scott; and three great-Grandchildren, Caleb Bakke, Zoey Powelka, and Athena Bakke, and the soon to arrive Avery Powelka; and college roommate and lifelong friend, Colleen Bakri. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant granddaughter Kristina Ney. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2017, with Reverend Bernt Tweit presiding. A private burial attended by family will be at Burke Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
