Marcus J Johnston

I only knew Marcus a short time, but his love of others and willingness to help them was what made him a friend. His loss makes the world a darker place, but should inspire us all to make that effort to go beyond ourselves and help others without benefit or recognition. A very kind soul has gone to its maker and we should take notice and move forward to improve ourselves and the world around us.

Marcus was someone who was dear to my heart; he held a special place in it. Always kind, always willing, he helped me on so many occasions. I remember one time when he was working on the tie rods on my car, we went to the Lafollette HS parking lot to complete the work. He faced the impossible job of reconnecting things by hand. After what seemed like 2 hours, Marcus, completely physically exhausted, completed this job that normally is done at a shop with a tool or machine. He spent all the energy and strength he had but finished the job. We laughed so hard at this amazing feat, high fived, and then drove away in a fixed car to get him food. He always had a smirk on his face and a calm, easy-going attitude even after driving all over town to find the right lamps for my car. Most of all, I remember how humble and respectful he was. Kindness was in his core. Marcus was truly a wonderful human being and I will miss him so much.

Your Korean mom will always love you and miss you. Your sweet and kind light will always shine bright in my heart and mind. You will never be forgotten.
