Booth, Allen P. "Al"
BROOKLYN/OREGON -Allen P. "Al" Booth, age 69, of Brooklyn, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017. He was born on Sept. 25, 1947, in Madison, the son of Gordon and Anna (Anderson) Booth. Al graduated from Oregon High School, Class of 1965. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968, then attended and graduated from MATC. He married Teresa "Terry" Shea on May 16, 1981. Al was an entertainer at heart and a fabulous storyteller to friends and family. He worked as a tavern manager at Mr. Bob's/Dudley's for many years. In 1994, he changed careers to become a Lab Animal Technician at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. Outside of work, he enjoyed traveling, golfing, camping and motorcycle riding. Al is survived by his wife, Terry; daughter, Torrie Smith; granddaughter, Bella; brother, Gordie; sisters, Sandy Hannemann, Diana Sime, Sally (Dave) Jones and Laura (John) Frederick; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Merl Hannemann and Mel Sime; and niece, Dawn Frederick. A Celebration Gathering will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017, with Military Honors at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the UW Carbone Cancer Center, or Agrace HospiceCare. Terry, I was so sorry to hear about Al's passing. He was a absolute wonderful guy. I had so many great times and good laughs with him and all the great people at Mr. Bobs ( Dudleys) back in the day. It was always great to run in to him occasionaly in Oregon over the years. Truly a kind ,genuine,sincere friend. Terry, I am so sorry to hear about Al's passing,he will be greatly missed. Such a great guy! Good times at Mr Bob's and so glad I was able to be part of the annual canoe trip back in the day!
