Joyce Evelyn Reis

MONONA-Joyce E. Reis, age 89, of Monona, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Jan. 26, 1928, the daughter of Harley and Ernestine (Houlihan) Bunch. Joyce graduated from Madison West High, Class of 1945. She worked as a bookkeeper for Ward-Brodt Music Company and later the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District. Joyce was a passionate Badgers and Packers fan. She was a lover of music, especially Elvis, Clay Aiken and Lady Gaga. In her younger years, she was a talented jitter-bugger. Joyce enjoyed bowling and attended many tournaments around the country. She enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas with friends and family, especially those trips with her daughter and granddaughter. Joyce is survived by her children, Sherry (Loren) Phelps-Lamphear and Dave (Terri) Reis; grandchildren, Chelsee (Charlie) Brawner, Heather (Eric) Groene and Shawn (Jon) Lamphear; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Phoebe, Addison, Andrew and Lucy. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Gilbert H. Reis; sister, Mary McDonough; and brother, John West. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017, with Chaplain Steve Zwettler presiding. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joyce's name to The American Heart Association or Agrace HospiceCare.
