Joseph C. Lochner

OREGON-Joseph Lochner, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare in Janesville. He was born on Dec. 15, 1919, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of John and Veronica Lochner. Joe was united in marriage to Carol Chapman in 1967, in Oregon, Wis. He earned his high school diploma and then joined the U.S. Army Medical Corps where he received surgical technician training. After his service to his country, Joe did apprenticeship training as a painter and became a member of the Painters Local Union No. 802. He was also a member of the Oregon VFW, the Brooklyn American Legion and the USS Houston Survivors Association. Joe was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He had a variety of interests including woodworking, he could repair almost anything, loved traveling the United States, was a football, baseball and car racing fan, but he truly treasured most the time he spent with his family. Joe was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; son, Michael (Terry) Lochner; grandson, Cole; and granddaughter, Hazel. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and a sister. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 S. Park St., Oregon at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017, with the Rev. Brad Homan presiding. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery.
