Brian E Linden

MCFARLAND/MADISON-Brian E. Linden, age 80, of McFarland, passed away at his residence on Monday, April 3, 2017. He was born on Nov. 26, 1936, in Madison, the son of Edward and Evelyn (Keleny) Linden. Brian enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. After the Marines, he attended St. Mary's College in Winona, Minn., where he met the love of his life. He and Moiya James were married in 1961. Brian joined the Wisconsin Air National Guard and found that he loved to fly. He worked for Eastern Airlines as a commercial pilot. When he retired, Brian spent the winters in Arizona, and the summers in Wisconsin. In his free time he enjoyed flying, boating, hunting, riding his motorcycle, and hanging out with the kids. Brian is survived by his wife of 56 years, Moiya; children, Jim Linden of Monona, Dan (Susan) Linden of McFarland, Monica (Marcus) Heinrich of Germany, and Patrick (Kelly) Linden of Baraboo; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and brothers, Mike (Jeanne) Linden of Rockford and Dave (Theresa) Linden of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017, with Fr. Chad Droessler presiding. Military honors will follow. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Saturday. Burial will be at Central Wisconsin  Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Monday, April 10, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Brian's name to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
