Richard C. Carlson

MADISON-Richard Charles Carlson, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born on September 24, 1943 in Cottage Grove, Oregon the son of Henry and Lily (Radloff) Carlson. Richard was a 1961 graduate of Cable High School. On May 8, 1964, he was united in marriage to Patty Smith in Spooner, WI. Richard worked at Springs Window Fashions of Middleton, retiring after 35 years of service. He had a variety of interests including woodworking, gambling, golf, was a tinkerer and an avid Packer fan, but truly treasured most the time he spent with his family. Richard loved following his children's and his grandchildren's activities. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patty; his children, Laura (Larry) Moldenhauer, Richard (Stacy) Carlson; son-in-law, Phil Denruiter; grandchildren, Christina (Neil) Denruiter, Christopher (Madie) Ripp, David Ripp (Logann Shu), Brad Denruiter (Trish Yelk), Mariah Carlson (Trevor Habich), Jared Carlson; great-grandchildren, Cade, Kolby, Kennedy and Brock; a sister, Florence Shanrock and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter Lisa and a brother Edward Carlson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton at 12 (Noon) on Saturday, March 25, 2017, with Chaplain David Brynelson presiding. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a food pantry of the donor's choice.
