God bless our Aunt Mary Ann. She was one-of-a-kind, with a directness, wit, and unwavering faith that I wish could be replicated. I always admired her steadiness of conviction and her direct way of taking on difficult situations. She was never shy to set a child straight; very fair, but you knew without a doubt if you had screwed up! We will all remember the famous cookies, the good times doing jigsaw puzzles or playing Scrabble. And it was at her home, with the ever-present Highlights magazine, that I first got to enjoy many types of puzzles and word games...something I continue to do to this day. Your spark lit many fires, Aunt Mary Ann! Thanks for these precious memories!

My memories of Mary and Jerry go back for 53 years. Jerry worked for my dad at the Hoffman House Restaurants and was one of my adult leaders in Troop 34 at St. Berrands Church in Madison. Their son Ron was in my patrol and is a good friend. We all went on dozens of camping trips. Mary was one of the best patrol mom's there could be. Never could you see her without a smile or hear a kind word even up to her reunion with Jerry on Saturday. Mary is our loss but God's gain.

I will always remember the scrabble games we played at Mom's and at the family reunions. Love to all of you.
