Obituary

CROSS PLAINS-Marilyn Jane Coyle age 77 of Cross Plains died Tuesday March 14, 2017 recovering from surgery at Maplewood in Sauk City. She was born May 26, 1939 in Madison, to Frances "Bud" and Eileen Reisdorf. She had fond memories of growing up on the family farm in Pine Bluff with her parents and siblings. She graduated from Middleton High School in 1957. On September 17, 1960 she married the love of her life Mathew P. Coyle at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pine Bluff. They lived in Cross Plains and were members of St. Francis Xavier Parish. Her husband "Satch" preceded her in death on January 8, 2000.Throughout the years Marilyn enjoyed the times spent with her children and grandsons at family gatherings, visits and their sporting events. She will be remembered for her contagious laughter that would put a smile on our face as soon as we heard it and had us all laughing with her. She was the family historian, always collecting information and sharing memories through the stories she told. She enjoyed teaching and playing card games and was a member of the Tuesday Night Ladies Card Club, the Golden-Agers, Cracker Barrel, and the Double Deck Euchre Group. She was a member of the St. Francis Prayer Chain and volunteered with the St. Francis ladies at Heartland Village helping residents at the bingo parties. Marilyn loved baseball, never missing a World Series game on TV and looked forward to the Ashton A's Home Talent games with her siblings and friends. In the summer Marilyn would attend Concerts in the Park with neighbor ladies and her sister Jackie. She cherished her outings with her friends Phyllis and Verda, who allowed her to enjoy folk music, the outdoors, and meeting new people. Everywhere Marilyn went she recognized someone or knew of his or her family members. Marilyn had a special bond with her neighbors of 50 years Joan, Noreen, Charlotte, Jack, Bill and Gary calling them part of her family and loved them all. The family sends a special thanks to her neighbor Joe who has been a good friend and a great help to Marilyn and our family throughout the years.Survivors include her daughters Christine (Ken) Ryan and Judine Coyle; four grandsons, Curtis (Molly) and Craig Ryan, Benjamin (Kim) and Mathew Hogan; sisters Jackie (Kenny) Hellenbrand and Mary Bongard; brothers Joe (Sarah) Reisdorf, Randy Reisdorf, and Dennis (Julie) Reisdorf; a brother-in-law Jake Dresen; sisters-in-law,  Mary Lou Studee and Carolyn (Pete) Hetzel; Great Aunt Josette Coyle, godsons Russell Krantz and Mark Hetzel and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. My deepest sympathies to Christine and Judine. When I think of your mom, I will always think of her warm smile and easy laugh. Growing up next door, your mom was always so friendly and welcoming. She remained a good neighbor and friend to my mom for many years and she will be missed. God bless.
