Lois A. Anderson

MADISON-Lois A. (Wakefield) Anderson passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, in Lodi. She was born on Oct. 4, 1921, in Baraboo, the daughter of Lawrence and Stella (LeSuer) Wakefield. Lois graduated from Baraboo High School in 1939 and married Gordon A. Anderson on Oct 15, 1941. She was a member of Rebekahs, the VFW Auxiliary and the Methodist Church. Before retiring, Lois was employed at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Madison. She was also a volunteer for the VFW Auxiliary at the Veterans Hospital in Madison. Lois enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, gardening, jigsaw puzzles and her family. Highlights of her travels included trips to the United Kingdom, Norway, and Arizona. Lois is survived by children, Ruth Mesarosch of Jefferson, Gordon Anderson of Sun Prairie, Kathleen (Bruce) Parkinson of Two Rivers, Paula (Dennis) Harpold of Merrimac and Jon Anderson of West Baraboo; eight grandchildren and their children, Scott (Kari) Harpold, Karlie and Thea, Chris (Heather) Parkinson, Kenzie and Zoey, Dale Harpold, Greg Harpold, Micah, Dylan and Gavin, Aaron Parkinson, Michael (Ashley) Mesarosch, Mabel Baechle , Melinda Mesarosch and Mark Harpold (fiancée Ashley Meyer); brother, William (Joan) Wakefield of Hemet, California; sister-in-law, Lorna Wakefield of Loves Park, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Lawrence Wakefield; sister, Dorie Johnson; brother-in-law, John Johnson; and son-in- law, Michael Mesarosch. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
