Stoughton – Joyce L. Nunes, age 54, of Stoughton, passed away in the comfort of her own home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on Aug. 7, 1962, the daughter of James and Jeanne (Hansen) Fanis and raised in Janesville, Wis. Joyce was employed with Group Health for over 17 years. She loved life and the times with her friends along with the memories of traveling with them to many fun destination. She is survived by her husband Ken; four brothers Jim, Darrell, Jon and Patrick Fanis; her three sisters,Tina (Steven) French, Cheryl (Keith) Wedig, and Maria Stoolman; and other relatives and many friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017, with the opportunity to share your favorite memories of Joyce beginning at 6:30 p.m. To honor Joyce's memory – give blood, adopt a child through "Unbound", adopt an animal from the humane society, or especially "be kind to a stranger". Joyce, you life was short, but you lived it so fully. You were fun to talk to and I know I would always find a friendly face at Deanne's parties. I've seen so many happy pictures of people who loved you, surrounding you with their love, and you radiating love back. You will be missed, for sure.

I loved her smile and her laugh. She was a thoughtful person. We both lost a great friend awhile back. She stayed at her friends bedside until we lost that friend as well. I will miss her. What a huge loss. God bless you dear friend. Love and to your husband and family. Vickie
