Shirley Edith Bries

COTTAGE GROVE-Shirley Bries, age 89, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Aug. 22, 1927, in Green Bay, the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Gothe) Cormier. Shirley was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to sing and dance. She and her best friend and sister, Betty, loved to get "all dolled up," go out to eat and go to the casino together. Shirley had a big heart, loved to help the people she cared about and make people laugh. Growing up in Green Bay, she was an avid Packers Fan. She was well-traveled throughout the U.S., but her heart was always in Green Bay. Shirley is survived by son, Tom (Sandra) Bries; daughters, Cindy (Jim) Tomlin and Sally (Jeff Wiggen) Bries; grandsons, Aaron Bries and Alex Bries; granddaughters, Stephanie Tomlin and Nicole Bries; great-grandson, Jett Bries; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Bries; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
