Obituary
MADISON-Brennan John McDermott, 46, passed away Saturday Feb. 18, 2017, after an extended illness. He was born in Madison, Sept. 1, 1970, and graduated with honors from East High School, receiving a scholarship to the University of Tampa. He earned a Business degree from Lakeland College. He played on both his high school and college golf teams. Brennan had an almost 25 year career with FedEX, most recently as a Senior IT Consultant. He is survived by his daughter, Adeline Rose; parents, John and Jane (Richter) McDermott of Madison; a sister, Amanda (Eric) Price; and nephews, Austin and Callum of Madison; a brother, Colin (Chrissy) McDermott; and niece, Lauren of Stoughton. Brennan is further survived by uncles and aunts, Robert and Kay McDermott, Dale and Randi Matthews and Pat and Renee Richter; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hugh (Pat) and Mary Alice Richter, and Austin (Mac) and Rosemary McDermott.
In addition to spending time with his daughter and family, Brennan enjoyed music, playing the guitar and watching the Brewers, Packers, Badgers and golf. He was always ready to lend his computer expertise to others. He had an amazing sense of humor and keen writing skills. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday Feb. 25, 2017. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. So sorry for the loss of this special man. He did work for our company over the last 4 years and was a joy to be around. Always willing and able and was totally appreciated for all his knowledge. He will greatly be missed by all.

We are so sorry for your loss. Although I only met him once, I know John and Jane. I remember John telling me about how Brennan just had to go to East because his dad went there. That to me is priceless and how much he loved his mom and dad. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

John and Jane, we were so sorry to hear of Brennan's passing. Though I didn't know him as an adult, he was certainly a delightful youngster! I know the joy he brought to his grandparents Mac and Rosie. I remember visiting Rosie with my mom, and practically the first thing Rosie would do (after serving coffee and cookies) was to bring out pictures of her beloved grandchildren and lovingly tell us about their latest accomplishments and escapades! As the oldest, Brennan was certainly very dear to her.
