Obituary
MADISON–Jill Aubrey (Kurzawa) Witkowski, age 38, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare, after a courageous two year fight against breast cancer. She was born on Aug. 29, 1978, in Oconomowoc, the daughter of Thomas and Barbara (Steckmann) Kurzawa. Jill graduated from Oconomowoc High School and the UW-Madison with an MBA in Brand and Product Management. Her impressive career started at JohnsonDiversey, continued with positions at General Mills and Kraft, and most recently led her to Spectrum Brands, where she was a Director of Marketing. Jill married Toby Witkowski on Jan. 2, 2017, in Oregon, WI. She was a loving companion to Toby and his daughters, a devoted daughter, an incredible sister, doting aunt and an amazing friend to many. Her enthusiasm for life was evident in her many interests, including travel, Badger sports, biking, movies, reading, dining out, and yoga. Jill loved adventure, but treasured most the time she spent with family and friends. Jill is survived by her husband, Toby, and his children, Emma and Morgan; parents, Tom and Barb of Oconomowoc; sister, Kristi (Andy) Schaeve and their children, Kellan and Mathis of Oregon; father and mother-in-law, Jerome and Dianne of Ripon; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and maternal aunt, Carol. Heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care provided to Jill and her family by the doctors and nurses at UW Carbone Cancer Center, Meriter Hospital, and the staff and volunteers at Agrace HospiceCare. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg, on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017. Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m., with Susan Shands presiding. Jill and our daughter, Meg were born days apart in the same hospital and I became close friends with Barb shortly after that. My heart aches for Barb, Tom, Kristi, Toby and the rest of the family.
