Obituary
MADISON- Charles L. Anderson, age 72, passed away on Saturday Jan. 14, 2017, with his loving family by his side. He was born on Aug. 2, 1944, in Boscobel, the son of Arthur Anderson and Catherine (Young) Carroll. He was united in marriage to Sharon Wenzel on Aug. 21, 1965, in Boscobel. Charles graduated from Boscobel High School. Charles served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Madison Metro for 44 years. Charles was a member of the VFW Post No. 10510 - Marshall, VFW Post No. 7591 - Cottage Grove and American Legion Post No. 279 - Marshall. He was also a member of the Jaycees, a leader for the Boy Scouts, and an EMS volunteer for the Village of Marshall for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his family. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon; sons, Paul, Patrick (Rebecca) and Darren (Stephanie); and seven grandchildren, Brandon, Quinn, Drew, Brock, Zoe, Chase and Baylee. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 12 noon, on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
