Darlene McFadden

MADISON-Darlene I. McFadden, age 89, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Lighthouse of Sun Prairie. She was born on Dec. 9, 1927, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Grace (Gibson) McFadden. Darlene was an avid writer and painter. She loved to read and spend time with her dog, Muffie. Darlene was a realtor for many years in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago. She loved the big city life and the friendships she made there. Darlene is survived by son, Dennis (Cindy) Simmons; two grandchildren, Andrea (Chris) Miller and William Simmons; two great-grandchildren, Ava and Austin Miller; brother, Neil (Lois) McFadden; sister, Grace DeWeese; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margaret; brother, Elmer; and sister-in-law, Katie. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, with Chaplain Steve Zwettler presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
