Obituary
DEERFIELD/MCFARLAND-Jerry W. "Jay" Manning, age 78, of Deerfield, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017. He married Janice Pahmeier on April 18, 1959. Jerry is survived by his wife, Janice: daughter, Stephanie (Richard) Manning-Roash; son, Mark (Fredricka) Manning; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and daughter, Debra Manning. A memorial service will be held at MCFARLAND LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5529 Marsh Rd., McFarland, at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, with the Rev. Timothy Dean presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Memorials may be made to McFarland Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice. Jay,
You will surely be missed by Karen and I. We spent many happy times together. We became friends with you and Jan immediately when we first met. In 2010, we became your next door neighbor at Viking Village Campground. Ever since, we have been great friends, more like family. You were ALWAYS cheerful and ready to laugh and tell a joke to make everyone around you feel cheerful.
You included me in on activities with friends you have had for your entire adult life. I got to play golf, go to your Saturday morning coffee group, enjoy dinners at restaurants, happy hours at the campground and many other things where you and Jan made us feel like part of your family.
You are still the biggest Packer fan I know. We had a friendly rivalry and had fun watching games together.
I know there is a special place in heaven for people who made such a positive impact on everyone you knew. While you will not be here physically, you will always be here in our hearts.
As you would always say to Karen and I every week when we left the camp ground, "LOVE YOU".
We will remember you always for the bright, friendly and loving person that you have always been.

Just a few photos of our times together. The last photo is of Jays shed. I caught the rainbow coming down over it. Its a pretty good sign that the angels have always been around him.
