CROSS PLAINS – Thomas H. "Tom" Cape, age 50, passed away on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017. He was born on July 1, 1966, in Elkhorn, Wis., the son of Pat and Chuck Boehnen. Tom graduated from Middleton High School in 1984. He was a trivia master, an avid sports fan, especially the Badgers and Packers, and enjoyed camping, hanging out with friends around the campfire and kayaking. Tom worked for Suburban Wheels for many years and most recently Final Touch Sod Farm. Tom is survived by his mother, Pat Boehnen; sons, Justin (Tori) Cape and Tyler Cape; sisters, Kimberly Cape, Debra Cape (Ron) and Karen Kittleson (Rob); nieces and nephews, Cory, Krystal (Ben), Danny (Brittany), Amanda, Derek, Lizzy (Corey), Cody, Austin, Hannah and Katrina; grandmother, LaVerne Cape; father, Thomas Cape Sr.; special auntie, Dorothy Achilli; uncle, John (Lynn) Bruce; aunt, Linda Bruce; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his dad, Chuck in 2016; and paternal and maternal grandparents. "Tah tah!" A memorial service will be held at ST. MARTIN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2427 Church St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017. Burial will be at Valley Home Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Memorials may be made in Tom's name to the family or for a Go Fund Me Memorial to be established. Regardless of where I was, whenever we spoke, we always picked up where we left off. If it was about the Brewers game the day before or breaking down the Packers game that was upcoming. I'm incredibly thankful for his presence in my life and I will continue to try and make him proud. The passion I have for sports, family and life all come from him. It's such a comfort to know that he is in an amazing place and I'm sure the most intense euchre game is currently happening. I love and will miss you Dad!

Knew Tom for a few years and he was a good man and a gentleman Always willing to lend a hand. We spent quite a few hrs in my backyard playing ladder ball, with the family and pool time basketball. And we ate well. He will be missed even though I hadn't seem him in a while I always wished him the best. May God Bless Tom and his family at this time. Bob B.

I knew Tom because he was the father of my grandson, Tyler. It is unfortunate that they did not have a close relationship but I am positive that Tom would be proud of Tyler. Rest in peace Tom and may God comfort his family and friends.
