Beverly was a friend and mentor to so many of us. Her warm smile, her beautiful piano music, and her welcoming presence in her home or wherever we met are things I will always cherish. The joy she brought to us and many others will long be remembered. Love and Prayers to Russ and the family. Carol and Lin

It was with a heavy heart that I read of Beverly’s passing. I did not know her very well, mostly through my interactions with Russ who, at the time, was my dissertation advisor. I was invited several times to their home and once spent Christmas with them as I was going through a separation and divorce and feeling pretty lost. The hospitality I was given and the warmth I felt was a tonic for my stressful soul. Beverly was so gracious, making me feel at home. I know she was a very special and wonderful person because she was part of a man who likewise was special and wonderful. I am what I am today in part because Russ believed in me and saw to it I received the nurturing he felt I needed. And Beverly was there to support him in his efforts. I will be forever grateful and in debt to Beverly and Russ’s warm friendship. It is at times such as this that words often do not do justice to the feelings that well up inside of us. I wish I was eloquent enough with words to express my sorrow. I may not express well my feelings but such deep sorrow and the joy of knowing Beverly, however briefly, can be found resident deep in my heart. Sincerely, Jack Thornburg

Riasa, Karen, Otana and Jibiana we are saddened by the news of the passage of your mother-in-law, mother and grandmother. It is never easy to lose a loved one so dear as a mother. Though she will be missed by loved ones and friends however, she is up above cheering us on as we journey through time. As believers we find solace in the fact that we shall reunite again some day and never to part again. We have hope beyond the grave and do not sorrow as unbelievers. To be absent from the flesh is to be present with the Lord. She has crossed the finish line ever to be present with the Lord. The days of her pilgrimage are over and she now rests in the bosom of the Lord. She has fought a good fight of faith and now lays for her a crown which the Lord will give to all who overcome. We praise God for a life lived so victoriously and all her incredible service to better the lives of so many. Let's strive to accomplish as much in our time. We join you in spirit in celebration of her home going. You are in our thoughts. We pray you stay strong and remain blessed. The Onimo family.

Beverly Middleton was an inspiration to women, she did everything. Her growth in learning new things and passing all of that to the many women who have known her throughout the years. My condolences to her family and particularly to her husband Russell who was one of the first faculty members at the University of Wisconsin I worked for back in the 1960s. Memories for all.
