Mary Ann Rounds

MONONA-Mary Ann Rounds, age 82, of Monona passed peacefully to her heavenly home on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017. She was born on June 11, 1934, the daughter of Robert Markley and Blanche Markley Murray. After high school, Mary Ann married Otho Rounds Jr. She worked many years at Oscar Mayer and ended her career managing the bakery at Sentry Foods in Monona. Mary Ann was an incredibly hard worker and a dedicated and loving mother. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with her husband and friends. Mary Ann loved cooking and sharing her recipes. She had a big heart and infectious smile. Mary Ann made good friends wherever she went and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. As the oldest of four girls, she was looked up to and loved deeply by her sisters and family. She was always that person you turned to for advice. Mary Ann is survived by her son, Daniel (Bonnie); grandchildren, Jennifer, Danny, and Barry; sisters, Roberta (Duane) Schey, Sandy (Stuart) Schlough, and Debby Taschler; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; other father, Thomas Murray; husband; and son, Otho "Bucky". Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon, on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, with the Rev. Jerry Amstutz presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
