MONONA- Dorothy (Paul) Benton, age 93, passed away on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, after a brief illness. She was born in 1923, in Milwaukee. Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Benton in 1946. They moved to Monona in 1953. While raising her family, Dorothy's interests included church activities at Lake Edge United Church of Christ, fiber arts, card playing, community clubs, cooking, traveling, and outdoor recreation. She passed her love of these activities to her children and grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by three children, Ricki Jo, Tracy (Bill) and Robin (Mary), all of Madison; and two grandchildren, Rachel of Portland, Ore., and Celia of Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sisters, Elizabeth Schablow and Marguerite Tabushing; and brother, Henry Paul. At Dorothy's request, no services will be held. Memorial gifts in her name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Dorothy was a very special lady. Someone I will never forget. And someone who will always have a special place in my heart. She lit up the room with her contagious smile . Though I only knew her for two short days, she will always be remembered. Rest in peace sweet Dorothy.
