MADISON-Terry O. Herron, age 72, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at home surrounded by Gert, Tina and Sister Georgeann. He was born on Aug 9, 1944, in Saginaw, Mich., the son of H. Russell and Peg (Fromweller) Herron. Terry married Gert Moses on Oct. 26, 1981, in Madison. Terry worked as a truck driver for Shaffer Trucking and Madison Pre Hung Doors. He and Gert started their own business in 1989 mowing lawns and clearing snow, retiring in 2007. Terry loved midget car racing, stock car racing, racoon hunting, and gambling at Ho-Chunk in both Madison and the Dells. Terry is survived by son, Russel S. Herron; adopted daughter, Tina (Marty) Olson Hacker; half-sister, Valerie (Ray) Mitchell; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Briar D. Herron. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Dane County Humane Society. Special thank you to Home Health United, and Home Health United Hospice for all of their wonderful care and support given to Terry. Also, to the wonderful angels that work at St. Mary's Hospital, 5th floor. A special thank you to Gert's godsend, Sister Georgeann for her prayers and encouraging words, as well as her special friend and adopted daughter, Tina.
