Roger Warren Hotchkiss

DEFOREST-Roger W. Hotchkiss, age 75, of DeForest, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on Feb. 5, 1941, in Bancroft, Wis., the son of Allen and Edith Hotchkiss. Roger graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1957 and moved to Madison in 1963. He was a bartender for The Cue and later, Mr. Giblins. Roger married Andrea Kaltenberg, on Oct. 17, 1970, in Madison. He worked for the Madison Metropolitan School District for many years, retiring in 2000. Roger enjoyed watching sports, especially the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. He loved classic cars and going for drives in his 1967 Mustang. Roger is survived by his wife, Andrea; sons, Chad (Tracy) Hotchkiss and Ryan (Jennifer Heidel) Hotchkiss; grandchildren, Jordan Hotchkiss, Kenzie Hotchkiss, Anali Bahena, and Sebastian Bahena; brother, Richard (Donna) Hotchkiss; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jacob Hotchkiss; and sisters, Marietta Scherzer, Shirley Hintz, and Patricia Cummings. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, with the Rev. Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
