Shirley Ann Brisky

POYNETTE – Shirley Ann Brisky, age 80, passed away on January 11, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society Lodi after a courageous battle with cirrhosis of the liver.  She was born on February 24, 1936 in Madison, the daughter of the late Clifford and Luella (Colstad) Leatherberry.  Shirley was united in marriage to Richard Brisky on January 29, 1955.  She was employed by AMPI for 28 years before retiring.     Shirley enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved to bake for her family and friends.  Shirley took on the mother roll of her siblings after the passing of their mother. She truly enjoyed spending time with them.  Shirley was a kind person who wanted to help out anyone in need. She enjoyed going to Ho Chunk.  Shirley enjoyed talking to her family on a daily basis; there was never a day that went by that she didn't talk to one of her family members. Shirley is survived by her seven children, Randal (Pat) Brisky of Poynette, Michael (Dawn) Brisky of Holcombe, Marilu Bortz (Jerry) of Poynette, Martin Brisky (Terri) of Cedarburg, Susan (Shawn) Scott of  Lodi, Debra (Larry) Paskey of Lodi, and Joann (Gregg) Schernecker of Columbus; 12 grandchildren, Jay (Jennifer) Brisky, Angela Brisky, Aaron (Lisa) Brisky, Devin (Kourtney) Brisky, Matthew Brisky, Nathan Scott, Benjamin (Courtney) Scott, Christopher (Kristi) Paskey, Andrew Paskey, Brett (Melissa) Schernecker, Ryan (Michelle) Schernecker and Melissa Schernecker; 23 great grandchildren, Tate, Anthony, Konnor and Cade Brisky, Alexis, Isabelle and Tyler Dixon, Tristan, Keegan, Logan, Isaac Brisky, Taylor Lybert, Emalee, Madelyne and Griffin Brisky, Caleb Scott, Cameron, Daniel and Elliott Paskey and Bella, Kylie, Brinley and Landon Schernecker; three foster grandchildren, Alexis, Ashley and Alesha Burns; three sisters, Arlene (Ron) Kirner and Karen Koehn both of Lodi and Sandy (Marty) Bobholz of Marshall; two brothers, Steve (Vicki) Leatherberry of DeForest and Ken (Lanita) Leatherberry of Fort Atkinson; three sister-in-laws, Darlene Brisky and Marie Brisky both of Lodi and Carol (Dick) Collins of Florida. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Brisky; granddaughter, Stacy Brisky; son-in-law, Loren Bortz; two sisters, Betty Elmer and Janet Homman and three brothers, Ronald, Eugene and Alan Leatherberry.  Shirley's family would like to thank the staff at the Good Samaritan Society Lodi for the wonderful care they gave her; her family will always keep the staff in their hearts. Celebration of Life will be held at GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL HOME, 157 South Main St., Lodi on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will in Greenwood Cemetery, North Leeds, WI.
