A truly amazing lady! Growing up in West Bend and living next door to her sister Edna, on the corner of 8th and Walnut, we were privileged to know Millie. As children we always looked forward to seeing their slide presentations in the living room when they would return from their latest adventure. Loved her spirit! RIP Millie.

I am inspired by Millie's long and full life richly filled with family, friends, travel, and such success in a meaningful career! I knew Millie as a friend of my grandparents (Harold & Loretta Tesar) and my dad (Pat Tesar). My dad shared a story about how she was the inspiration behind he and my mom moving to Oregon, WI, where I was raised. It was a great place to grow up and I loved learning that history today! Though I'm sure I met her as a child, I have only one conscious memory of meeting her and she left a lasting impression. I've never forgotten her. She came to my college graduation party in 1992 when I graduated from nursing school. She gifted me a pretty music box with a Bluebird of Happiness inside and a lovely note in a card. I so much enjoyed getting to know her that day and she showered me with encouragement and pride at my choice of career. I still have both the music box and the Bluebird. The Bluebird has adorned my living space with fondness for the past 25 years since receiving it. I remember feeling very touched and inspired by her. What a gift she was to so many throughout her lifetime and what a woman to celebrate!

WOW.... It's going to be hard to top my daughter and sister's comments! Like my sister, Maureen, I grew up in West Bend living next door to Edna and getting to know Camilla. I too looked forward to hearing about their numerous ventures and it was such a treat to be in their company. After our kids were born I searched out Camilla to recommend school districts to move into and she highly recommended Oregon and I have to say that was an excellent choice as they've both grown up to be very successful with very fulfilling lives. We again sought out Camilla's advice and wisdom when our daughter was considering a career in Nursing and we're very proud of her success in that field as a CRNA. Thank you Camilla for your friendship, advice, wisdom and influence on our lives. It was truly a pleasure knowing you and your family. Pat Tesar

We have known Millie many years as cottage neighbors and friends at Loon Lake in Shawano. Through the years she became like “family” to us. When Sarah and Eric were little, they’d go next door for long periods of time where they were entertained with toys, books, and stories of Millie’s (and Fern’s) vast experiences! Millie’s tenacity and spirit when she lost her first leg was amazing, but when she lost her other leg and somehow managed to be positive and happy in spite of her lack of mobility truly was inspirational! We know her strong faith helped her through it all. We were honored and privileged to serve as guardians for both Millie and Fern on the Badger Honor Flight to Washington, DC on May 4, 2013. We carry with us lots of fond memories of Millie, especially our annual ebelskiever brunch at the lake!
We are better people for having known Millie, and we thank God for the blessing of Millie in our lives. We pray she enjoys her heavenly reward.
