COTTAGE GROVE/MADISON-Daniel "Danny" Dean, age 41, of Cottage Grove, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016. He was born Jan. 2, 1975, in Madison, the son of William and Kay Dean. Danny graduated from LaFollette High School in 1993. He later met Tiffany Nix, the love of his life. Danny was a great carpenter and enjoyed building houses. He worked as a self-contractor for Manstrong. Danny was actively involved in AA, where he made many meaningful friendships. He was loved by all, was a brother to everyone, and would do anything for anyone. Danny truly enjoyed life and loved riding his motorcycle and camping with family—he was just one of the kids! He loved spending time with his children, going to cheer competitions, and soccer, football and basketball games. Danny is survived by his parents; step-father, Richard Taylor; the mother of his children, Lacey; and their children, Adeline Dean and Bronson Dean; life partner, Tiffany Nix; her children, Reid Nix and Payne Nix; brother, Dustin (Emily) Dean; nieces, Sydney Dean, Tayah Dean and Sophia Dean; three step-siblings, Sean (Lisa) Fowler, Shannon (Tim) Davis and Meaghan Lingis; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Eileen Dean; grandparents, Donald and Melody Dean and Dorothy Harris; and aunts, Kay Henderson, Juanita (Bernie) VanEperen. A Celebration of Life will be held at THE EASTSIDE CLUB, 3735 Monona Dr., Madison, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for the education of the children. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

What an amazing MAN gone way too soon. Anyone who had the opportunity to know you has been beyond blessed. Please know that you were just like a brother to me and Tom and Dan felt the same. May God hold your entire family and circle of friends very tight and provide them with the comfort and strength at this very difficult time. Your smile, laughter and hugs will be forever cherished.

Danny was the kind of person you didn't have to see daily to know how his smile lit up a room. His love of life and dedication to his family spoke volumes about his character. It had been years since I'd seen him, however I am hearbroken for his loss. It's so very sad and my heart aches for his loved ones. Until we meet again, sir. You were a class act that I will never forget. Hugs and peace to you now. Rest easy.
