Obituary
MADISON - Barbara Lloyd Schara, age 81, of Madison, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born on Oct. 22, 1940, in Madison, the daughter of Thomas and Dorothy (Carden) Lloyd.
Barbara graduated from Madison Central High School in 1959. She was united in marriage to Raymond Schara on Oct. 29, 1992, in Amarillo, Texas. She worked as a manager for K-Mart for 35 years.
Barbara enjoyed attending many different music festivals and was a music fan follower of Tony Rocker and Steve Meisner. She treasured her role as nanny for their grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always thinking of others. She was a devoted dog lover, having raised and cared for her seven furry loyal canines over the years.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Raymond; children, Thomas Sorum, Richard Sorum, and Jolene (Cory Mayr) Guberud; five stepchildren, Jacque (Bob) Robson, Cathy (Randy) Mullendore, Cindy (Paul) Lust, Michelle (Tom) Bulin and Lisa Schara; sisters, Bette Schackett and Carol (Don) Bessire; and their blended families including 20 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Dorothy; and son, Robin Sorum in 1997.
A funeral service will be held at DOOR CREEK CHURCH, 6602 Dominion Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022, with Rev. David Smith presiding. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
