SUN PRAIRIE-Arline D. Wegger, age 91, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Willows Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born on Jan. 19, 1926, in Madison, the daughter of Fred Voss and Esther Voss. Arline married Theodore Wegger on Jan. 21, 1950. She worked for Oscar Mayer, retiring in 1964 after 21 years. Arline was a long time parish assistant and member of the choir at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed music, spending time with family, helping others less fortunate and taking care of her cats. Arline is survived by numerous relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore; and brother, Donald Voss. Funeral services will be held at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2165 Linden Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017, with the Rev. Pat Siegler presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park with a luncheon to follow at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and Agrace HospiceCare. Special thank you to the staffs at Prairie Gardens and Agrace HospiceCare for their love, care and compassion which allowed Arline to have quality of life at the end. As a child growing up (Linda Smith) I remember Arline as the helping hand in the church office and the new mom to my cats. She adopted the family pets when we discovered an allergy to them and could no longer keep them. She always kept me updated on their day to day activities, with letters and cute pictures, and she let me come to visit when ever I could. Arline was always a kind and loving person. She will be missed.

Mrs. Wegger was my Sunday School teacher at Zion many years ago. Just recently I found a little note from her from when I was in her class and it brought back great memories. Arline was inspirational to me as I began my walk with God and my faith. She was a Blessing to many.

Even though Arline was only part of my life for a short time I will never forget her smile. Even after she got sick her smile would light up the room. May she rest in peace and now she is with "her Teddy".

Ted and Arlene were staples in my life growing up. Teddy Bear was always good for a hug and Arlene a/k/a Weggerbunny was always there for a listening ear or just whatever I needed. She was the left reverend to dad's right reverend...going through the trash to make sure he didn't throw out anything that was actually important.
While we mourn her physical loss to us here, we rejoice in her triumphant new life with her Lord and Savior. ALLELUIA!
